Big Brothers Big Sisters hosts first Highland County event Sept. 13 at Karnes Orchard

Big Brothers Big Sisters of South Central Ohio (BBBS) will hold its first-ever Highland County event on Saturday, Sept. 13 at 10 a.m. at Karnes Orchard in Hillsboro. The event highlights both the critical need for mentors in Highland County and the generous community support helping to fulfill that mission.

Karnes Orchard, located at 8200 Worley Mill Road, has graciously sponsored this special outing for BBBS participants from across the organization's service area, which includes Ross, Pike, Pickaway, Fayette and Highland counties.

The event draws attention to the ongoing need for volunteer mentors in Highland County. Local BBBS representatives note that some children have waited up to five years for a mentor match due to limited volunteer participation in the region.
