Batavia Post investigating a two-vehicle serious injury crash in Pierce Township
BATAVIA – The Batavia Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol is investigating a two-vehicle serious injury crash. The crash occurred on Saturday, Jan. 10, at approximately 9:51 a.m., on state Route 749 in Pierce Township, Clermont County.
The preliminary investigation revealed a 2013 Hyundai Accent, operated by Jesse Herndon, 41, Bethel, was traveling west on state Route 749. A 2017 GMC Yukon, operated by Kyla Young, 26, Amelia, was traveling east on state Route 749. The Hyundai traveled left of center and struck the GMC. The GMC traveled off the south side of state Route 749 after contact.
Herndon was transported by ground ambulance to UC Medical Center with serious injuries. Herndon’s passenger, Sally Patrick, 34, Ripley, was also transported by ground ambulance to UC Medical Center with serious injuries.
Young was transported by ground ambulance to UC Medical Center with minor injuries. Young’s passenger, Aaron Young, 27, Amelia, was also transported by ground ambulance to UC Medical Center with minor injuries.
The roadway was temporarily closed during the crash investigation, but has since reopened. This incident remains under investigation by the Batavia Post.
The Patrol was assisted at the scene by the Pierce Township Police Department, Pierce Township Fire Department & EMS, Clermont County Prosecutor’s Office, Ohio Department of Transportation, and Tarvin Auto Service.
