Area man indicted on charge of rape against a 10-year-old

A Highland County man has been indicted on a charge of rape committed against a 10-year-old.

Kyle S. Baker, according to court documents, on or about Dec. 5, 2009, allegedly, "did knowingly engage in sexual conduct with ... a juvenile."

Baker was indicted during the July session of a grand jury in Highland County, where one charge of rape, a felony of the first degree; and one charge of gross sexual imposition, a felony of the third degree, were handed down. 

He is currently being held in the Highland County Justice Center and is scheduled for arraignment this week. 

The case is being investigated by the Hillsboro Police Department.
