Alligator surfaces in Adams County farm pond; but not for long

An Adams County man was surprised to receive a call from his father last week, alerting him to a potentially dangerous situation.
Nathan Dailey, an owner of Dailey's Outfitters near Peebles, was told by his father, Larry Dailey, that an alligator was in the pond.
Nathan eliminated the unwanted creature after placing a call to the Ohio Department of Natural Resources.
"I actually shot the gator behind my house in our farm pond," Nathan told The Highland County Press. "A lot of people think it was at the pay lake just because we are associated with it; but no fears, no fishermen were at risk.
"The pond was only about 400 feet behind my house where my young boys play, and I figured shooting it was the best option."
