Adena Women's Board plans for annual charity ball

By

Plans are underway for a wonderful evening as the Women’s Board of Adena Health System prepares for the 114th Annual Charity Ball which is scheduled this year for Saturday, December 5 at the Chillicothe Elks Hall.

The entire community is invited to purchase tickets and attend the event, with all monies raised going this year to benefit the Study Garden at the PACCAR Medical Education Center, which recently celebrated its First Anniversary on the campus of Adena Medical Center.  In years past, this longstanding fundraiser has generated funds for Adena’s Maternity Unit and pediatric crash carts at the hospital. In fact, at the first Charity Ball held in 1895, $300 was raised that assisted in furnishing the first hospital in Chillicothe.

The evening will kick-off at 7:30 pm with a social hour and silent auction that will include a number of graciously donated items available for bidding.  The event’s Grand March, that has been a tradition since the Ball began in 1895, will take place at 8:45 pm before the Arnett Howard Band begins its performance as the featured entertainment.
“We are certainly excited for this year’s event and extend an invitation to all members of the community to join us for this kick-off to the holiday season,” says Fran Upperman, Women’s Board Member and Committee Member for the Charity Ball. "Even more important is the opportunity to raise funds for the PACCAR Medical Education Center, which we are certainly proud to have in our community as an educational resource for our healthcare professionals and those who are interested in healthcare careers.”
Tickets for the event are open to the entire community to purchase for $35 each or $70 per couple. Inquiries and reservations for tickets can be directed to Dixie Freeman at 740.993.2217.  Tickets are also available to purchase in Chillicothe at the Adena Medical Center Gift Shop, E.M. Smith Jewelers and Ivy’s Home and Garden on North Paint Street.
