Adena Sponsors Free Proposal Writing Seminar Set for January 26

Non-profit organizations in Adena's 10-county service area are invited to attend a Free Proposal Writing Seminar on Tuesday, January 26, 2010, at the PACCAR Medical Education Center's Kenworth Auditorium, located on the campus of Adena Medical Center in Chillicothe. The Seminar, which will be held from 9 a.m. until 3:30 p.m., will emphasize S.M.A.R.T. goals outcome measurement and sustainability.
S.M.A.R.T. Goal Training focuses on setting goals that are Specific, Measureable, Aggressive yet Achievable, Relevant, and Time Bound. Barb Jamison, BBA, MSM, Education Specialist at Adena Health System, will serve as the presenter.
In addition, Guest Speaker Lesli K. Johnson, LISW, Ph.D., Assistant Professor at The Voinovich School of Leadership and Public Affairs, will present on achieving outcomes measurement and sustainability for those who apply for 2010 Community Health Partner grants.
Anyone in Adena's 10-county service region is welcome to attend this free seminar. Participants will gain valuable insight into structuring project plans and writing grant proposals with S.M.A.R.T. goals, measurable outcomes and sustainability.
In each of the past five years, Adena Health System, through the Adena Health Foundation's Community Benefit Department, has offered a generous amount of funding for new and innovative health-related projects that benefit communities in Adena's 10-county service region. In 2009, fourteen grants totaling $95,948 were awarded to non-profit organizations in Fayette, Highland, Jackson, Pickaway, Pike, Ross and Vinton counties. Projects are selected by a review committee of the Board of Directors that bases its selections on published guidelines.
This year's Seminar on January 26 is free and open to the public. Those interested in applying for grants in 2010 are encouraged to attend. Pre-registration is required.
