CHILLICOTHE – Adena Medical Group today announced the appointment of Brooke Burns, MHA, MBA as president, effective July 28. In this role, Burns will lead a diverse team of physicians and advanced practice providers delivering primary and specialty services across Adena Health’s nine-county service area.

Adena Medical Group is the employed provider organization of Adena and includes more than 300 clinicians. Burns previously held leadership roles at Adena, including executive vice president of the medical group, and is rejoining the organization with a renewed focus on strategic growth and clinical excellence.

“Brooke’s return is a tremendous asset for our health system,” said Jeff Graham, Adena president and CEO. “Her deep knowledge of our people and operations, along with her extensive experience, make her the ideal choice to guide our medical group forward.”

Burns will lead the strategic direction of the Adena Medical Group with a focus on operational sustainability, provider satisfaction, and clinical service expansion. She will also play a vital role in advancing system-wide initiatives aimed at improving quality, expanding patient access, optimizing provider performance, and introducing new approaches to care.

“I am honored to return to Adena and to lead such a talented, mission-driven team of providers and professionals,” said Burns. “This organization has always held a special place in my heart, and I’m thrilled to be part of its next chapter. Together, we’ll build on a strong foundation, expand our impact, and continue delivering exceptional, innovative care to the communities we proudly serve.”

Burns returns to Adena with more than 17 years of experience in outpatient practice and over a decade in medical group leadership. She began her tenure at Adena in 2011 and held several key leadership roles, including regional site manager for the west service area, and service line director for both primary care and oncology services before serving as executive vice president of the medical group. She most recently served as chief operating officer at Orthopedic ONE, the largest physician-owned orthopedic practice in Ohio.

This leadership appointment reinforces Adena’s ongoing commitment to operational excellence, transformative care delivery, and an even more unified approach to care delivery, ensuring that every patient receives consistent, personalized care close to home.
