Lynn Harris, director of Rehabilitation Services at Adena Greenfield Medical Center, is one of only three finalists for the Gallup organization’s Manager of the Year Award.

The national award will be presented Wednesday, May 14 at Gallup’s Spring Summit being held in Omaha, Neb.

Harris was nominated for the award by Adena’s Organizational Development team because of her high employee engagement scores and her reputation as a solid leader.

“All of us at Adena are extremely proud of Lynn,” said Adena President and CEO Mark Shuter. “She is a true leader and consistently delivers professionalism and caring in her interactions with staff and patients. Lynn is a great example of a true Adena caregiver. We wish her the best of luck at the Summit.”

Starting at Adena Greenfield Medical Center more than 30 years ago, Harris says she still loves her job;,and that is reflected in her interactions with her employees.

“I appreciate what they do, and I think they appreciate what I do -- it’s a two-way street. We like working together,” she said. “I feel very blessed to come to work every day. We really enjoy working together and helping people.”

Of the nomination, Harris is still coming to grips with the fact that she is one of only three in the nation up for the award.

“It’s a very nice compliment,” she said. “I was really very shocked. To think they thought enough of me to nominate me was very nice, and I’m just really humbled. I always hope I do a good job for my people, and this is one way of saying that they think I do.”

Harris is traveling to Omaha Tuesday with other members of Adena’s Service Excellence team, who will be officially presented with Adena’s 2014 Gallup Great Workplace Award at tomorrow’s ceremony.
