To remember those special loved ones and friends who have passed away this year, Adena Hospice will host its annual Candlelight Memorial Service on Tuesday, December 8 at 7:00 pm at Brookside Church, located at 2215 Egypt Pike in Chillicothe.
In observance of its 25h Anniversary, Adena Hospice will also share a special recognition of all the patients Adena Hospice has cared for over the years. After the service, attendees will be invited to Yoctangee Park, located downtown Chillicothe, where luminaries will be pre-placed in memory of Hospice patients and those individuals who have made memorial contributions to Friends of Hospice. Luminaries will be on display the evening of December 8 until 9:30 pm.
Adena Hospice exists to provide an alternative to traditional or conventional care for those with a life limiting illness. Staff members focus on palliative and supportive care for the family unit during the illness and bereavement period.
The program is designed to maintain the patient in the home, or home-like-environment, for as long as possible by providing palliative, supportive and educational services that will help maintain the quality of life and alleviate the suffering of all concerned. The objective of Adena Hospice is to provide care by utilizing an interdisciplinary home care team to meet the needs of dying patients and their families.
Adena Hospice volunteers are able to determine their own level of commitment based on availability and can assist Hospice staff and patients in many ways including patient and family visits, assisting with the bereavement program, assisting in the Hospice office with administrative tasks, and working with staff on special projects.
Anyone is more than welcome to attend the Memorial Service. For more information, contact Krista Alexander, Hospice Volunteer Coordinator, at 740.779.4676 or toll-free at 1.800.799.7710.[[In-content Ad]]
