Adena Health adds three new physicians

CHILLICOTHE – Adena Health continues expanding care options and access for patients across multiple service lines with the recent addition of three physicians. These doctors will further enhance care in endocrinology, podiatry, and rheumatology as they provide more options for comprehensive, close-to-home care for patients throughout the region.

Adena is pleased to welcome:

Bharat Gautam, MD, who joins Adena Endocrinology seeing patients in Chillicothe. Dr. Gautam treats a wide variety of conditions, including diabetes, high-cholesterol, adrenal disease, hyperthyroidism, obesity, osteoporosis, and several others. He also provides diabetes education, dietary nutrition, glucose testing, testosterone management and insulin pump services. Dr. Gautam is a graduate of Community Based Medical College in Bangladesh, completed an internal medicine residency at Raritan Bay Medical Center in Perth Amboy, N.J., and completed an endocrinology fellowship at Nassau University Medical Center in New York.

Kanchan Malhotra, MD, who is now caring for patients with Adena Rheumatology in Chillicothe. Among Dr. Malhotra’s many specialty areas are conditions such as arthritis and joint pain, gout, inflammation of the arteries, inflammatory arthritis, inflammatory muscle disease, connective tissue disease, psoriatic arthritis, vasculitis and others. A graduate of the University of Mississippi School of Medicine, Dr. Malhotra completed an internal medicine residency and a rheumatology fellowship at the LSU Health Sciences Center in Louisiana.

Nicole Smith, DPM, who joins the growing team at Adena Orthopedic and Spine Institute, working with Adena Podiatry in Chillicothe. Among her specialty areas of treatment are conditions involving bunions and hammertoes, flat feet surgery, diabetic foot ulcers and infections, infections of the foot and ankle, podiatric ligament and tendon injuries, nerve disorders, plantar warts, sports-related injuries, fractures, dislocations and other traumas. Dr. Smith is a graduate of the Barry University School of Podiatric Medicine in Miami, Fla., and she completed a residency in foot and ankle surgery at SSM Health in St. Louis, Mo.
