CHILLICOTHE – For more than 30 years, Beth Ann Elliott cared for patients in the Adena Medical Center, working in a number of different departments, but always providing exceptionally compassionate care.

“If I awoke in the hospital after surgery and saw Beth Elliott as my nurse, I would know I was in good hands and receiving excellent care,” said Jean Harral, RN, MS, and Adena’s Patient Advocate, who knew the longtime registered nurse.

Following Elliott’s death last year, friends joined together to create a scholarship fund to commemorate the longtime registered nurse for “her memory and professionalism.”

“She was a private scrub nurse for a few surgeons, worked for our surgical department and most recently was responsible for insertion of PICC lines,” Harral said. “She was always available to help and would come in at any time day or night. And she always put the patients’ needs first.”

Contributions made to the Beth Ann Elliott Memorial Scholarship Fund go toward nursing scholarships to qualified students living within the 13 counties served by Adena Health System.

Her son, Seth, is honoring his mother’s achievements in another way. He is studying to become a nurse and carry on his mom’s tradition of nursing care.
