Mildred Lucille Heckman
Mildred Lucille Heckman, 89, passed peacefully Aug. 28, 2023 at home, due to natural causes.
Mildred was born April 19, 1934 in Bainbridge to William Harris and Geneva Hopkins-Michaels.
She spent her life serving the Lord. She enjoyed gardening, painting, crafts and cooking and loved spending time with family and friends. She received her GED in 1989 and went on to receive her associate’s degree for real estate at Southern State Community College.
She is survived by her husband, Paul Heckman; her four children, Freddie Gene (Linda) Thompson, Joanetta May (Nile) Fetters, Dennest Karl (Carolyn) Thompson and Michael Allen Thompson; her 11 grandchildren, Freddie Gene (Tammie) Thompson III, Michelle (William) Burchett, Christina (James) Huff, Rhonda (Ivan) Dumpert, Tracy (Tracy) Bennington, Roxanna Thompson, Trisha Thompson, Trenton (Jamie) Thompson, Justin Thompson, Michael (Jenny) Thompson and Matthew Thompson; 24 great-grandchildren, Zachory Huff, Joshua Blystone, Haylee McCoppin, Tiffani (Brad) Yuncker, Jerrett (Chelsey) Huff, Taylor (Cody) Conn, Reece Hunley, Logan Rogers, Olivia Hunley, Tori Thompson, Triston Thompson, Michael Thompson, Konnor Rogers, Mason Dumpert, Treven Thompson, Marcus Thompson, Dylan Thompson, Evelynn Thompson, Matt Monroe Thompson (Mildred named him), Deanna Parsons, Tiffani (Aaron) Atkins, Tyler Parsons, Danielle Bennington and Braiden Bennington; and 16 great-great-grandchildren, Jason Yuncker, Landon Yuncker, Ivy Yuncker, Zayn Mercer, Spencer Yuncker, Elijah Smith, Bexley Mercer, Oakley Yuncker, Silas McCoppin, Graclie Conn, Scarlet Huff, Christopher Parsons, Jaxon Parsons, Erika Atkins, Brooke Atkins and Gabriel Conn.
Mildred was preceded in death by her father, William; her mother, Geneva; her late husband, Freddie Gene Thompson Sr.; her great-grandson, Freddie Gene Thompson IV; and great-granddaughter, Dahlia Mae Hunley.
Services will be held Saturday, Sept. 2, 2023 at noon at Thompson Funeral Home in Hillsboro with Tom Stoops officiating.
Friends may call from 11 a.m. until the time of service.
Internment will take place at Clarksville Cemetery, 342 S. First St., Clarksville.
