MAC announces 2023 Football Head Coaches Preseason Poll

The 2023 Ohio University football team has been selected to finish first in the Mid-American Conference East Division in the 2023 MAC Football Head Coaches Preseason Poll, the league announced July 20. The poll was determined by the leagues' 12 head coaches.
 
In the East Division, the Ohio Bobcats were selected first with a total of 63 points, followed by Miami with 52 points and Buffalo with 51 points. Bowling Green is fourth with 35 points, with Akron (26) and Kent State (19) rounding out the East.
 
In the West Division, Toledo was selected first with a total of 66 points. Eastern Michigan finished second with 55 points, followed by Northern Illinois (38), Central Michigan (37), Ball State (27) and Western Michigan (23).
 
Toledo was selected to win the MAC Championship with seven votes, followed by Ohio (4) and Buffalo (1).
 
The Bobcats are set to open the 2023 season on Saturday, Aug. 26 when they take on the San Diego State Aztecs. Kickoff is scheduled for 7 p.m. ET/4 p.m. PT on FS1 at Snapdragon Stadium in San Diego, Calif. Homecoming is set for Saturday, Oct. 7 against the Kent State Golden Flashes.
