Lucy Jane Fender
Lucy Jane Fender, 89, of Lynchburg, passed away Sunday, Oct. 15, 2023.
She was born Sept. 22, 1934 in Irvine, Ky., the daughter of the late Daniel Henry and Inis Ellen (Roe) Tipton.
Lucy was married to the late John Fredrick "Fred" Fender on Oct. 8, 1955, and they shared 56 years together until his passing on Feb. 17, 2012.
Lucy was a longtime member of the Gospel Baptist Church in Cincinnati as well as a member of the Union Cemetery Board and retired from U.S. Playing Cards after 33 years.
She is survived by her daughter, Elizabeth Faye (Doug) Heyne Sr. of Mt. Orab; grandson, Doug (Amanda) Heyne Jr. of Lynchburg; great-granddaughter, Lexi Nicole Heyne; and five sisters, Nannie Mason of Lexington, Ky., Martha Stapleton of Mansfield, Louise Arvin of Irvine, Ky., Maggie Hafley of Carter City, Ky. and Helen Boling of Mansfield.
Besides her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by five sisters; Virginia, Bertha, Rebecca, Maudie and Mary; and six brothers, Strauter, Charles, Samuel, Walter, Robert and James.
Services are being held Saturday, Oct. 21, 2023 at the convenience of the family.
