It's not just one party to blame

To the editor:
I see Mr. Hiestand is up to his old tiresome tirades again blaming the Republicans for all the ills of the country.
I was amused by his choice of words that "this country will continue to spiral towards Third World status". By the use of the word continue to me, would indicate that we are already spiraling towards that Third World status.
Last I remember, Mr. Hiestand, the Democrats controlled the House and the Senate. Wait a minute! I believe that's their man in the White House, also.
Now, I wonder who is responsible for that spiral towards donkey carts. Mr. Hiestand, the people of Highland County realize that there is enough blame to go around on both sides of the aisle. No one party has a monopoly on getting us into this us verses them attitude.
We really need to clean house on both sides of the aisle, become more aware of what our public officials are doing and hold them accountable for their actions. If you were really concerned about this rush towards Third World status, you may want to come and see what our local TEA Party is all about.
Mr. Hiestand, when one is so blinded that he cannot get past his biased view of things, then he becomes part of the problem and not part of the solution.
Sincerely,
Russell M Morgann
