Drivers urged to be considerate of other drivers, pedestrians

To the editor:

Attention drivers of Hillsboro and drivers going through Hillsboro: Please follow safe driving rules. Stop running red lights. I see this every day in the center of town. Stop turning on red in front of the person who has a green light. Watch pedestrians in crosswalks. Once, this summer, I saw an elderly woman with a walker crossing the street. One car turned in front of her and one turned behind her before she reached the other side. Do not block intersections. If you see traffic is slow-moving or stopped, stop before the intersection. Please do not stop in front of the driveway at the hospital for emergency vehicles.

Surely we are not in such a hurry that we cannot be courteous and most importantly, save a life. It could be yours!
