LCHS baseball shut out at Blanchester

Falling behind early, the Lynchburg-Clay Mustangs lost a non-conference game Wednesday to the host Blanchester Wildcats, 10-0 in five innings.

The Mustangs trailed 6-0 after the first inning, and BHS scored one in each of the next two inning, then followed with a two-run fourth inning as Blanchester finished with five hits in the win over LCHS.

Lynchburg-Clay totaled three hits and committed three error in the loss.

Austin Bell led LCHS with a 2-for-2 game at the plate, and the other hit was off the bat of Asher Faust as he was 1-for-2.

Josiah Burns, Cole Wells and Luke Smith each were hit by a pitch, while Burns also collected a steal.

Wells pitched three innings for LCHS, finishing with eight runs (four earned) on six hits and five walks, and he struck out two batters.

Isaac Eyre pitched one inning, allowing two runs (one earned) on one hit and no walks.
