LC Mustangs’ SHAC boys soccer streak ends at 73 games

Entering their game on Monday night (Oct. 9), the Lynchburg-Clay Mustangs had a streak of 73 consecutive games in the Southern Hills Athletic Conference with a win or tied score. That streak ended at home on Monday, as they were defeated by the Fayetteville Rockets, 1-0 at LCHS.
The Mustangs began the streak during the 2013 season, with the streak reaching 70-0-3 in that span. Their most recent loss to a SHAC team was on Oct. 7, 2013.
The Mustangs have won 10 consecutive SHAC championships in that span and are still in the running for another SHAC crown with two games remaining on the schedule. They are 4-1-0 in the conference standings, while North Adams and Fayetteville are 6-1-0 in the same standings.
LCHS has two SHAC games left on the schedule as they are scheduled to face the Ripley Blue Jays on Wednesday, Oct. 11 at 6:30 p.m., and on Friday, Oct. 13 the Mustangs are scheduled to travel to face the West Union Dragons at 5:30 p.m.
