LC girls soccer shuts out Williamsburg

It was another win for the Lynchburg-Clay Lady Mustangs on the road Tuesday night, defeating the Williamsburg Lady Wildcats by a 3-0 score in non-conference action.

Lynchburg-Clay saw two of their three goals scored by Jade Massey, and another goal was scored by Brya McClain.

This season, Massey now has 30 goals and eight assists. In all, LCHS has scored 56 goals and collected 39 assists as a team in 2023.

Assists against Williamsburg were credited to Massey and Allie Waits.

The win by LCHS moves them to 10-0-4 overall, and they are 4-0-1 in the Southern Hills athletic Conference.

In the most recent state soccer poll (posted on Oct. 9), the Lady Mustangs are ranked No. 6 in Division III.

LCHS has one regular-season game left, coming on Wednesday, Oct. 11 at 6:30 p.m. against the Ripley Lady Blue Jays in SHAC action.

Their first tournament game is on Oct. 18 at 6 p.m. against Chesapeake at LCHS.
