Lady Lions win by 10 goals; Lions fall to Westfall
The Fairfield Lions boys soccer team lost a non-conference game on Thursday (Aug. 31) by a 6-1 score.
Fairfield’s lone goal was scored by Zane Matthews. FHS took 21 total shots, 15 shots on goal.
Carson Jenkins was at goal for the Lions, finishing with five saves.
The loss sends the Lions to an overall record of 3-5-0 overall. In the SHAC standings, FHS is 2-0-0.
In the girls game, the Fairfield Lady Lions defeated Westfall 10-0 for the dominating non-conference win.
Two Fairfield players had hat tricks in the win, those players being Kennedy Zink and Faith Donley. Also with goals were Vivian Henninger, Meri Jackson, Rilee Quickle and Kendal Welling.
Assists were credited to Miley Brown, Donley, Henninger and Zink.
FHS took 27 total shots and 16 shots on goal.
Claire Newkirk was at goal for the shutout and totaled one save.
The Lady Lions are currently 2-0-0 in the SHAC and 5-1-0 overall.
