Joseph Hester

Joseph Hester, 84, of South Salem, passed away Saturday, Oct. 28, 2023 at Traditions of Chillicothe.
 
He was born Jan. 4, 1939 in South Salem, the son of Harry and Viola (Beechler) Hester.
 
Joe was a 1957 graduate of Buckskin Valley High School and retired from Johnson Controls after more than 30 years of employment. He enjoyed going to flea markets and yard sales after retirement and was an avid Ohio State Buckeyes fan. He was a member of the Greenfield Church of Christ.
 
He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Jeanette (Moore) Hester; three sons, Mitchell Hester of Columbus, Jerry (Daisy) Hester of Florida and Tim (Jennifer) Hester of Greenfield; four grandsons, Cameron, Joshua and Matthew Hester and Eric Lowe.
 
He was preceded in death by one brother, Bernard Hester; and both parents.
 
A private funeral service will be held at the convenience of the family at the Murray-Fettro Funeral Home in Greenfield with Pastor Danny Dodds officiating. Burial will follow at the South Salem Cemetery.
 
The family would like to express their appreciation to the staff at Traditions of Chillicothe, Hopeton Village and NCR Hospice for their care and compassion over the last two years.
