Johnny L. Locey

Johnny L. Locey, 69 of Leesburg, passed away Friday, Aug. 11, 2023 at the Hospice of Butler and Warren Counties Inpatient Center in Franklin. 
    
He was born Dec. 1, 1953 in Leesburg, the son of the late Otis Locey Jr. and Goldie P. (Houck) Locey Barr. 
    
John worked for many years on oil rigs in Texas.  If you knew him, you knew he loved telling stories about his time there. He also worked for many years at Mason Fence and Leesburg Modern Sales. He was a member of the Greenfield Eagles Aerie 1325 and was an auxiliary member of the Leesburg American Legion.  
    
He is survived by his son, Michael P. (Rebecca) Locey of Hillsboro; six grandchildren, Jonathon, Lea, Austin, Crystal, Ray, and Dylan; a brother, Jeffrey Locey of Madrid, Spain; a sister, Janet Dove of Leesburg; a nephew, Jason W. Dove of Leesburg; and a niece, Teresa Dove Kniceley of Leesburg. 
    
A celebration of Mr. Locey's life will be held from 2-5 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 16, 2023 in East Monroe. Those wishing to attend may contact the family for further information.
