JD Duncan hat trick sends Fairfield to victory at Middletown Christian

A hat trick by senior JD Duncan was more than enough for the Fairfield Lions to earn a non-conference road win Tuesday night, defeating Middletown Christian, 9-1 en route to their first win of the 2023 season.

The Lions (1-1) not only had three goals from Duncan, but had six other goals by six players in the win. Senior Isaac Burns and junior Zane Matthews each had a goal and assist.

Having one goal each were junior Logan McIntosh, sophomore Aiden Teeters, senior Daniel Ward and junior Corey Zimmerman.

Senior Larkin Friend collected an assist for Fairfield, and junior Carson Jenkins totaled four saves in the win.

The win sends the Lions to 1-1 overall this season, and they will next play Thursday, Aug. 17 at home against the McClain Tigers at 7:30 p.m.
