Whiteoak's Landen Eyre earns 6th-place finish at Nike Midwest Region Cross-Country Meet

Whiteoak sophomore Landen Eyre competed in the Nike Midwest Region Cross-Country Meet on Sunday, Nov. 13 in Terre Haute, Ind.

Eyre finished in sixth place out of 941 runners from all over Illinois, Indiana, Missouri, Michigan and Ohio. He also had the fastest time out of all Ohio runners, with a time of 16:13.7.

With his sixth-place finish, Eyre earned a spot on the Nike All-Midwest Region Cross-Country team.

The honor comes just over a week after Eyre finished in fifth place at the OHSAA State Cross-Country Championships at Fortress Obetz. His 16:04.1 time at the state meet earned him a spot on the podium.

Eyre’s accomplishments this season also included winning the Pickerington Invitational with nearly 400 runners, winning the Southeastern Invitational and Washington CH Invitational and winning two home meets. He was also Highland County champion, Southern Hills Athletic Conference champion, Southeast District champion and regional runner-up.
