    Starting pitcher Ronel Blanco of the Houston Astros has been selected the American League Player of the Week presented by Chevrolet, and Cincinnati Reds outfielder Spencer Steer has been named the National League Player of the Week presented by Chevrolet.

  • MLB announces Competition Committee modifications for 2024 season
    Major League Baseball (MLB) Thursday announced modifications to the Official Baseball Rules that have been approved by the joint Competition Committee beginning with the 2024 Championship Season, including Spring Training and the Postseason. The Competition Committee – comprised of six owners, four players and one umpire – was created as a part of the Collective Bargaining Agreement negotiated between MLB and the Major League Baseball Players Association (MLBPA) in 2022.
  • MLB attendance surpasses 70M, records largest percentage increase in 30 years
    Major League Baseball completed a historic 2023 regular season featuring a comprehensive set of new rules resulting in increased action on the field, a quicker pace of play and an opportunity for players to show their athleticism. In the first year of a balanced schedule and the second year of expanded Postseason play, MLB generated significant increases in attendance and consumption, with paid attendance reaching the 70 million mark for the first time since 2017.

    Major League Baseball Tuesday announced that 2024 Spring Training will officially begin on Thursday, Feb. 22 as the Los Angeles Dodgers and San Diego Padres open the Cactus League season.
  • MLB announces 2024 regular-season schedule
    Major League Baseball Thursday announced its master 2024 regular-season schedule, which will begin with the 2024 Seoul Opening Series, featuring the Los Angeles Dodgers and the San Diego Padres – two franchises with a tradition of South Korean players – in Seoul, South Korea in the country’s first-ever Major League games on Wednesday, March 20 and Thursday, March 21.
  • Major League Baseball completes 2023 Draft presented by Nike
    Major League Baseball Tuesday completed the 2023 Draft presented by Nike with a total of 614 players being chosen in the 20 rounds, one Prospect Promotion Incentive Selection round, two Compensation rounds and two Competitive Balance rounds. The Draft resumed in the 11th round via MLB.com this afternoon after Monday’s completion of rounds three through 10.

    Seattle Mariners outfielder Julio Rodríguez has been selected the American League Player of the Week presented by Chevrolet, and Cincinnati Reds shortstop Matt McLain has been named the National League Player of the Week presented by Chevrolet. The announcements were made Tuesday on MLB Network.
