    First baseman/outfielder Spencer Steer of the Cincinnati Reds has been selected the National League Player of the Week presented by Chevrolet, and Tarik Skubal of the Detroit Tigers has been named the American League Player of the Week presented by Chevrolet. The announcements were made earlier this week on MLB Network.

Manfred, Jr. has upheld an earlier decision by MLB to terminate Major League Umpire Pat Hoberg’s employment.

    MLB will produce and distribute local games for the Cincinnati Reds during the 2025 season. The new arrangement will give more Reds fans in the Club’s home television territory the opportunity to watch games on television or to stream digitally with no blackouts for locally distributed games.
  • MLB announces 2025 Spring Training schedule
    Major League Baseball Thursday announced that 2025 Spring Training will officially begin on Thursday, Feb. 20 as the Los Angeles Dodgers host the Chicago Cubs in Glendale, Ariz. to open the Cactus League season. On Friday, Feb. 21, the New York Yankees will host the Tampa Bay Rays in Tampa, Fla. to open the Grapefruit League season before a full slate of games including all 30 teams are featured on both Saturday, Feb. 22 and Sunday, Feb. 23.
  • MLB Speedway Classic game between Reds, Braves to serve as one of the highlights of the 2025 season
    The Cincinnati Reds and the Atlanta Braves will play a national regular-season game in the MLB Speedway Classic at Tennessee’s Bristol Motor Speedway on Saturday, Aug. 2, 2025 at 7 p.m. (ET) on FOX, Major League Baseball announced Friday.

    Major League Baseball Thursday announced its master 2025 regular-season schedule, which will begin with the Tokyo Series presented by Guggenheim, featuring the Los Angeles Dodgers with Oshu, Japan native Shohei Ohtani and Bizen, Japan native Yoshinobu Yamamoto against the Chicago Cubs with Kitakyushu, Japan native Shota Imanaga and Arakawa, Japan native Seiya Suzuki on Tuesday, March 18 and Wednesday, March 19 at the Tokyo Dome. Traditional Opening Day, featuring all 30 Major League Clubs, will take place on Thursday, March 27.
