High School basketball results for Monday, Dec. 6

The Hillsboro Lady Indians put up a good effort Friday night, but in the end it wasn't enough for their first win of the year, falling to the Madison-Plains Lady Golden Eagles 55-51 in a South Central Ohio League matchup.

On Saturday Dec. 4, the McClain Tigers wrestling team traveled to Williamsburg to compete in the Bob Guy Invitational.

The Lynchburg-Clay Mustangs began their 2010-11 boys basketball season with a very close game but ended up on the losing end, falling to the Huntington Huntsmen, 47-44 Friday at Zane Trace High School in the Zane Trace Tip-Off Classic.

The McClain Tigers were unable to handle the basketball Saturday night. Though committing multiple turnovers, the Tigers kept the game close in the first half, but lost their second straight game to start the season, falling to the Piketon Redstreaks 65-28 at Zane Trace High School in the Zane Trace Tip-Off Classic.

One night after dropping their season opener to the East Clinton Astros, in non-league play, the Fairfield Lions had to play without their regular lineup, falling to the Vinton County Vikings, 75-50 at Zane Trace High School in the Zane Trace Tip-Off Classic.

Drew Dollich showed little signs of his preseason illness and lit up the Whiteoak defense for 21 points, including a trio of 3-pointers, as Coach Dave Young's Green Devils defeated Tom Wessner's Wildcats, 69-54, Friday, Dec. 3. Prior to the opening tipoff, the North Adams gymnasium paused for a moment of silence in honor of fallen U.S. Marine Luke Scott of Adams County, who lost his life in the war in Afghanistan this week.
