    A three-run third inning by the Fayetteville Rockets proved to be just enough to overtake the Fairfield Lions, Thursday at Fayetteville High School. The Lions' four hits and one run weren't enough to catch up with their Southern Hills League rival, falling in their league matchup, 3-1.

        On the final night of SCOL games in the 1983-84 season, Circleville took their frustrations out on neighboring Teays Valley, trouncing the Vikings, 63-33. McClain beat Madison-Plains, 65-53, and Miami Trace whipped their Fayette County rivals, the WCH Blue Lions, 62-52, while Wilmington visited Hillsboro and took a 63-52 victory over the Indians.
