Farmers deal with grain moisture

Damp weather earlier last week slowed harvest progress but farmers returned to the fields later in the week. While weather always impacts harvest progress, this year farmers have been faced with some unusual challenges that have slowed harvest.

Atsalis leaves HHS for Cincinnati Reading
The 1965 SCOL football season was just around the corner. Coach Bill Atsalis was back at Hillsboro High School for his seventh year. He had taken the Indians from a perennial doormat to a contending team. But this season might be different. While the boys had, according to Atsalis, “a fine mental attitude,” they were small and inexperienced.

Stephen D. Iseman, Ph.D., a professor celebrated for combining academic training with hands-on career preparation, was awarded the Public Relations Society of America (PRSA) 2009 Outstanding Educator of the Year Award at the PRSA 2009 International Conference in San Diego.

SSCC player-coach inspires Patriots
His story is one of ups-and-downs. It is a story of life.
   The journey of Wayne Noble spans the globe; but for now, the current chapter has settled in Hillsboro.
   Noble, a military man, has been shot three times and has been laid off from two jobs due to the tough economic times. But he has continued to fight back, looking life right in the eyes,  refusing to fall. His story has become an inspiration not only to members of the Highland County community, but he has become a role model for many area young people.
