Thanks to the presence of The Caped Crusader, there was No Return of the Joker at the Oct. 28 meeting of the Highland County Board of Realtors. The Halloween luncheon brought out many ghosts, goblins, skeletons (one, anyway) and even a bedbug or two. But thanks to Batman's vigilant eye, all was safe and secure at the Ponderosa Banquet Center gathering of Realtors.

Pirates, princesses and phantoms of all varieties took to the streets of Highland County Thursday for annual trick-or-treat festivities.
 The sidewalks of the Hillsboro Uptown area was swarming with children of all ages as businesses opened their doors, pulled on their own costumes and handed out treats to little ghosts and ghouls.
 The annual safe trick-or-treats were held at Southern State Community College and in the downtown area of Greenfield.
 Traditional door-to-door "begging" was also held countywide.
Another view foisted on an unsuspecting public
