The annual Area High School Art Showcase will be open for viewing 1-3 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 12, in the Appalachian Gateway Center on Southern State Community College’s South Campus, 12681 U.S. Route 62, near Sardinia. The gallery will open at 1 p.m. with refreshments and the awards ceremony will begin at 2 p.m. The event is free and open to the public.

The Lynchburg-Clay Lady Mustangs doubled the score of the Paint Valley Lady Bearcats Saturday, for a 50-25 win in their non-league game.

With the score tied after four quarters, the McClain Lady Tigers were unable to finish the overtime period with the upper hand Saturday night. Being outscored 10-8 in OT, MHS dropped a non-league game to the Unioto Lady Shermans, 50-48 at UHS.

The Hillsboro Police Department, with assistance from the Highland County Sheriff's Office, made two arrests Sunday, Feb. 6 in connection with an alleged meth lab in the basement of a residence at 252 Bigelow St. in Hillsboro.
