Council hears proposed fire contract; administrators, citizens debate

"If an existing fire department could come in with a cost structure that would be competitive, I would say it would be better to stay with the existing fire department, because you wouldn't have the transition costs. But once the costs start getting exorbitantly different between the two, you have to make a decision, especially in today's economy." Councilman Rod Daniels.
