No injuries or significant structural damages were reported following a house fire in Jackson Township Sunday evening.

Hillsboro Fire and Rescue responded to the incident at 1465 Young Road, to a report of a two-story structure fire.

According to Marc Bayless, of HFR, crews arrived on scene to find smoke coming from the home.

"The occupants came home to find smoke coming from the eves," Bayless said.

It took crews approximately 20 minutes to locate the source of the smoke.

"It was smoldering in the insulation spaces between the upstairs trusses from some old, rotted wiring," Bayless said. "(The homeowners) said they had smelled something during the daytime but were unable to determine where it came from."

In addition to Hillsboro, stations from Brushcreek, Marshall and Franklin Township in Adams County responded to the fire. Lynchburg and Leesburg fire stations provided station coverage for Hillsboro.

Crews were on scene for approximately two hours, and the fire was under control within 30 minutes.

"We were able to scoop out the insulation and used very little water to extinguish it," Bayless said. "It was mostly just salvage and overhaul after that."
