HCSO responds to separate motorcycle crashes

On May 7 at 1:28 p.m., the Highland County Sheriff's Office responded to a motorcycle crash with injury on state Route 124 and Lilly Road.
Deputies arrived and found Robert McGuire, 65, was traveling eastbound on state Route 124 on his 1985 Honda Goldwing motorcycle. McGuire traveled off the right side of the roadway, striking a culvert, ejecting him from his motorcycle. McGuire came to a stop in the ditch.
Hillsboro Life Squad responded to the scene and transported McGuire to HDH. McGuire was not wearing a helmet at the time of the crash.
Two employees of Warren Furniture, Curtis Ross and Arron Wilcox, both of Hillsboro, passed the accident scene and, after noticing the motorcycle, turned around to see if they could be of assistance.
They found the driver of the motorcycle and made a 911 emergency call.
Ross said the driver indicated his kick stand had come down, and he was trying to correct it when the crash occurred.
This crash remands under investigation.

At 2:08 p.m., the Highland County Sheriff's Office received a call of a second motorcycle crash with injury on state Route 136 at the Sorg and Clark Road intersection.
Deputies arrived on the scene and found that Robert Schwab, 44, was traveling northbound on state Route 136 approaching the intersection of Sorg and Clark Roads. Schwab observed a vehicle pulling from Sorg Road partially onto the roadway. Schwab was ejected from the motorcycle and came to a stop in the ditch.
Mowrystown Life Squad and Rescue trucks were called to the scene. University of Cincinnati Air Care was called to these scene, where Schwab was flown to University Hospital. Schwab was not wearing a helmet at the time of the crash.
The crash remains under investigation.
