Bird secures funding for Clermont County in capital budget

Ohio Governor Mike DeWine Friday signed Substitute House Bill 2, the state’s two-year construction budget for capital projects throughout the state. The Capital Budget will make historic investments in local community projects, announced State Rep. Adam Bird (R-New Richmond).

Bird secured the following capital investment that will positively impact Clermont County:

• $248,000 to construct new pickleball courts at Miami Riverview Park for the enjoyment of generations to come;

• $150,000 to build a skilled trades center at Camp Friedlander, investing in the workforce of tomorrow;

• $139,919 to rejuvenate Batavia Township Park, fostering opportunities for outdoor recreation; and

• $46,706 to replace doors and windows in the Grant Memorial building, preserving a community landmark.

“We are continuing to move our communities forward by investing in our state and local economy,” said Bird. “Securing these investments will ensure our future remains bright.” In addition to these local investments, this legislation also includes statewide capital investments of:

• $600 million for the School Building Program Assistance Fund;

• $400 million for the Public Works Commission Local Public Infrastructure and State Capital Improvement Program; and

• $397.6 million for higher education projects around the state.

State Representative Bird is serving his second term in the Ohio House of Representatives. He represents the 63rd Ohio house district, serving residents in northeastern and southeastern portions of Clermont County and the western portion of Brown County.
