State Representative Cliff Rosenberger (R-Clarksville) has announced that yesterday at 3:30 p.m., Governor John Kasich signed into law House Bill 121, which will ensure that an existing custody order for the child of a parent actively serving in the military cannot be altered solely because of that parent’s military service.

State Senator David Daniels (R- Greenfield) announced today that the Ohio Senate voted to approve House Bill 153, the two-year operating budget for the state. Governor John R. Kasich has announced that the state will commit $750,000 in State Assistance to individuals impacted by the flash flooding that occurred May 10-11, 2011 in Gallia, Jackson, Lawrence, Pike, Ross, Scioto and Vinton counties.
“The rains have caused a tremendous hardship on farmers who are unable to get into the fields to plant or safely apply fertilizer and manure,” said Ted Lozier, chief of the Division of Soil & Water Resources. Lozier said that as a result of the heavy rains some manure storage facilities are near capacity. Recognizing that an overflow could have an environmental impact on waterways, the division is offering limited financial assistance to qualifying operators.
