The 2024 All-Southern Hills Athletic Conference Baseball team was recognized at the SHAC’s spring sports banquet.

The Southern Hills Athletic Conference honored the 2024 All-SHAC softball team during the spring sports banquet.

The 2024 All-Southeast District baseball teams have been selected by coaches of the district, with 19 baseball players, along with one coach, honored this spring.

The 2024 Southeast District Softball Coaches have released their All-District teams for the spring 2024 season, with 17 Highland County athletes honored.

The following are Highland County high school baseball and softball results for the 2024 season. All scores compiled by The Highland County Press.

A total of 13 Highland County athletes have punched their tickets for the 2024 OHSAA Track & Field State Tournament after their qualifying finishes at the Div. II and Div. III regional meets.

It was a battle for a Division III SE District championship Friday night on the campus of Ohio University between the Lynchburg-Clay Mustangs and the Portsmouth Trojans. Each team had positives go their way in the seven innings played, but when it mattered most, it was Portsmouth sliding into home plate for the walk-off win against the Mustangs.

The battle of the Southern Hills Athletic Conference in the Division III SE District Semifinals went to the Lynchburg-Clay Mustangs, as they used nine hits to send themselves to the district finals, defeating the SHAC champion Eastern Warriors, 5-1 at Ohio University. 

Lynchburg-Clay girls softball finished first in Division I of the Southern Hills Athletic Conference with a SHAC record of 8-5.

Highland County track and field athletes excelled at the Division III Southeast District meet held May 15 and 17 at Nelsonville-York. The meet saw the Fairfield Lady Lions team earn a district runner-up trophy, while Highland County athletes also won district titles and broke records along the way.

Scoring runs in two separate innings, plus having a top-notch pitching performance from Cole Wells, the Lynchburg-Clay won a sectional game for the first time in over five seasons as they defeated the Valley Indians, 3-1 for a Division III SE District Sectional championship Thursday. 

Friday, May 10 saw the Lynchburg-Clay Mustangs fall in a non-conference road game to the Batavia Bulldogs, 8-0 at BHS. 

The 2024 Southern Hills Athletic Conference Track and Field Championships were held at Manchester High School on Friday evening, where the Fairfield Lady Lions won the girls championship, while the Whiteoak boys placed as runners-up in the boys event.
