A week after their impressive shutout victory over Clermont Northeastern, the Hillsboro Indians were on the other end of a shutout performance Friday, Sept. 19, as the Wilmington Hurricane defeated the Tribe, 44-0, at Richards Memorial Field.
The Indians found senior running back Garrett Scott (7) and junior QB Matt Creditt too much to handle Friday night.
Creditt got the scoring started on a 52-yard run at the 10:43 mark of the first period. Ben Constant added the extra point and it was quickly 7-0 after the game's first possession.

Hillsboro quarterback Toby Warrington had a big 29-yard run from scrimmage on the Indians' first possession. But the drive stalled from there.
Wilmington added another touchdown on a 27-yard pass from Creditt to Dylan Beaugard with 7:42 to play in the first.
A fumble recovery by Scott ended the Indians' next possession.
Wilmington moved the ball on runs by Chris McEvoy (who was later injured). After Ryan Hagan deflected a pass in the end zone on third and goal, the Hurricane added three more points on a Constant field goal.
The Indians' defense came up with a big play late in the quarter when Skylar Murphy and Lane Hester sacked Creditt for a 23-yard loss.
The game quickly got out of hand in the second period when Creditt scrambled for an 11-yard touchdown at the 10-minute mark. Scott then ran for a one-yard touchdown and, on the ensuing Hillsboro possession, Scott intercepted a Warrington pass and ran it back 44 yards for his second TD in 22 seconds.
The half ended with Wilmington on cruise control at 38-0.
In the third quarter, Andy Ealy scored on a 40-yard pass from Creditt.
Hillsboro had a nine-yard gain by Jordan Mosley and a 10-yard pickup by Warrington in the third.
Late in the fourth quarter, Hillsboro moved into the red zone, assisted by two pass interference calls on the Hurricane defense, but couldn't punch it into the end zone.
Wilmington (4-0) travels to East Clinton on Sept. 26. Hillsboro (2-2) hosts Chillicothe on Friday, Sept. 26 at Richards Memorial Field.
