Tigers host Bob Bergstrom McClain Invitational

GREENFIELD — The McClain Tigers hosted the annual Bob Bergstrom McClain Invitational on Friday, April 26, as they saw their boys team place third overall and their girls team place fifth overall at the event.
As for the Hillsboro Indians, they also competed in the event with the girls team placing second overall and the Hillsboro boys team was also second place. Winning the event for the girls was Circleville, and the boys winner was Miami Trace.

Final standings for the girls event included Circleville with a total of 118 points, followed by Hillsboro at 114.5. In third was Miami Trace at 106, while next were Washington (101), McClain (100.5), Adena (81.5), Paint Valley (38) and Chillicothe (36.50).
The boys final standings had Miami Trace with 155.5 and Hillsboro in second at 150. The third-place McClain team totaled 110 points, and they were followed by Paint Valley at 71.5. The rest of the standings included: Washington (65), Adena (62), Circleville (54) and Chillicothe (11).
As for the girls events for McClain and Hillsboro, first-place results included McClain’s Zoe Rios winning the 100-meter hurdles event with a time of 16.45. Also for McClain, Kerigan Pollard was first in the 100m dash at 13.24.
Hillsboro’s girls 4x200m relay team of Molly McCreary, Sydney Callahan, Eden Edenfield and Jaeleigh Hart had a time of 1:53.95. McCreary was also first place in the 800m run with a time of 2:43.73.
The boys first-place finishes for Hillsboro and McClain included Hillsboro’s Draven Stodgel winning the discus throw with a distance of 148-03. Stodgel also was the winner in the shot put event with a distance of 50-09.00.
Also for the Indians, Anthony Richards won the boys long jump with a distance of 20-07.00. Hillsboro’s 4x200m relay team won with a time of 1:38.99.
McClain’s boys 4x100m relay team of Kobe Penwell, Patrick Fout, Trevor Newkirk and Matt Bliss won with a time of 45.84.
The Tigers also had a first-place finish in the 4x400m relay event as the team of Fout, Bliss, Alex Snyder and Newkirk finished with a top time of 3:48.20.
Hillsboro’s Quinn Conlon was the winner of the boys high jump event with a height of 6-00.50.
