In this blog, we will take a closer look at all eight South Central Ohio League football schedules for the upcoming football season in the month of July, and let's start that process by looking at the schedule of the Hillsboro Indians.

Hillsboro went 1-9 last season and 0-6 in the SCOL. Their lone win one year ago came against Landmark Christian, 40-6 in Week 4.

This season, Landmark Christian isn't on the schedule for the Indians, and being in the SCOL, they have a tough slate of game ahead in 2014.

The first three weeks of the season will be all non-league games with the Indians starting the game with two consecutive road matchups at Western Brown and at Goshen.

The game against CNE is what I'm looking at the most in looking at the non-league schedule of the Indians. This could be the most competitive game of the HHS schedule this season, as CNE also went 1-9 a year ago. The Rockets defeated Bethel-Tate, 36-0 in Week 5 last season.

The first three league games for the Indians will be their toughest stretch of games all season. HHS will be starting the SCOL schedule by hosting new SCOL member Wilmington, then taking on '13 postseason qualifier Chillicothe in Week 5 and then facing the Division IV State champion Clinton-Massie Falcons in Week 6 at CMHS.

I don't know if another team in the SCOL will have a tougher stretch of three games than Week 4-6 for the Indians.

The final month of the season will have HHS playing vs. East Clinton, at Miami Trace, at Washington and vs. McClain.

Looking at the Rotary Bowl, the Indians will look to keep the Tigers from keeping the trophy for a third straight season, a feat the Tigers have not accomplished since the Rotary Bowl trophy began being presented in 1985.

Here is the complete HHS football schedule for 2014, as all games are on Friday nights with a start of 7:30 p.m. HHS will scrimmage Paint Valley at home this season on Aug. 22 at the annual Fish Fry scrimmage.
