The Hillsboro Indians and Lynchburg-Clay Mustangs were unable to finish their non-conference match on Wednesday due to lightning in the area, leaving the score tied at 1-1 at Hillsboro High School.

The Indians and Mustangs both scored their goals in the first half, with the Indians taking a 1-0 lead within the first 20 minutes of play as Quinn Conlon put the ball in the back of the net for the Indians.

Not to be outdone, the Mustangs scored their lone goal with 8:06 left on the scoreboard when Blake Marcelino off a header with the assist from Triston West.

That would be all the scoring in the first half and in the non-conference match, as the game was called with 16:26 left on the clock.

LC still has one game left on the schedule for the regular season, a Southern Hills Athletic Conference match where they will host the Fairfield Lions.

The Mustangs are 6-0-0 in SHAC play this season as they are going for their sixth straight SHAC championship. LC is 40-0-1 in their past 41 conference matches. A win on Friday would also be their fourth consecutive perfect season in conference action and the fifth time in the past six seasons as well.

For the season, the Mustangs are currently 10-3-2 overall.

The Indians this season are 4-8-2 overall. HHS had one game left on the regular season schedule on Thursday, Oct. 11 at Fayetteville in non-conference action at 5 p.m.
