“Hillsboro didn’t fill a lot a weight classes, so we didn’t get to wrestle a lot of matches, but with the guys who did wrestle, the important thing I saw a lot of fight in them,” McClain head coach Shane Paul said. “Win or lose, as long as they are giving everything they’ve got, I can’t ask for anything more, so I was really happy with the guys who did wrestle.
“I was glad to see a bunch of our alumni tonight as well, with us celebrating Alumni Night.”

“I’m happy with the season so far. We’ve done better than expected, and I can’t complain,” Paul said. “We’ve got several guys standing out, above all Kade (Rawlins) is 20-1 overall and Lucas Jansen is doing really well. Quinton (Smith) is doing super, and Jake (Krafthefer) is doing well. Actually, the bulk of the team has a winning record. If you are going out there and winning more than losing, that is good in my opinion, and I can’t complain about that.
“The league is good, and Miami Trace has the depth and history on their side and they are the team to beat. Other than that, we have wins over Washington and Jackson, so the parity in the league is there, and that is good. I’m glad to see that.”
