Monday night was an excellent way to start the week for the Lynchburg-Clay Mustangs, as they traveled to Hillsboro and defeated the host Indians by a 3-2 score.

The win improved the Mustangs to 6-4 overall, as they currently have a 3-0 record in Southern Hills Athletic Conference games.

In the win against Highland County counterpart Hillsboro, the Mustangs led 1-0 at halftime, as the lone goal in the 40-minute half came from junior Ian Waits, as he kicked the ball past the keeper on a rebound, second-chance opportunity for LCHS.

The second half saw both teams score two goals each, with the Mustangs having goals from juniors Trey Pitzer and Garrett Reno. Freshman Josiah Burns was credited with an assist.

LC freshman keeper Isaac Eyre had one save in the win.
