HILLSBORO — At the completion of four innings, the Hillsboro Lady Indians held the lead, but following the final three innings, the result wasn't the same as HHS fell to the Washington Lady Blue Lions, 5-1 Friday at Alice Cassner Field.
HHS head coach Catie Moberly said her team needs to do just that … play as a team.
"We were playing this like an individual sport and not playing as a team," Moberly said. "This was our first game in a week and a half, so it is like we are starting over, and (Friday) we looked like it.
"We have a stretch of a lot of games next week, so maybe we'll get a chance to get some games in."
For HHS (0-1, 0-3), they scored their lone run in the bottom of the fourth inning as Kerstin Thornburgh crossed home plate after she walked to reach first base. She scored on a two-out base hit to the right field line off the bat of Kirsten Juillerat.

Thornburgh had two walks in the South Central Ohio League game, and Juillerat also had one walk.
That run gave HHS a 1-0 lead after the fourth, but the fifth and seventh innings for the Lady Blue Lions were too much for HHS to handle, as they allowed five runs in those two innings combined.
In the fifth, Washington scored four runs and in the seventh, WSHS added one more with five different batters scoring those runs.
For HHS, Alex Stratton had a single in the fifth inning, Madison Snyder singled in the sixth inning and Rachel Sexton had a double in the sixth.
"We have to put this one behind us, learn from it and move on," Moberly said. "We are a young team, but we have to grow up now, because nobody else here is able to do it for them."
The winning pitcher for WSHS was Jude, who pitched seven innings. She allowed one earned run on four hits and three walks. She struck out seven.
Pitching for HHS was Hanna Breeden. In the loss, she struck out nine.
