MT built up their lead to 18-14, forcing the Lady Indians to call a timeout, and from there HHS scored two straight points, including a point from senior Corrine Ray for an 18-16 deficit. MT responded by scoring seven of the next eight points, including five straight for the 25-17 score.

In the fourth and final set, the score was tied at 3-3 with HHS rallying after trailing 3-0 at the start of the set. In the three straight points by the Lady Indians, they came from Ray and two points from junior Kailey Dietrick, with both points coming off a serve.

From there, MT took a 6-4 lead, with HHS scoring their fourth point from senior Beth Taylor, and later HHS had their fifth point of the set scored by senior Maddy Miller. From there, the Lady Panthers took a 12-5 lead, and that scoring streak was stopped off a spike at the net from junior Sydney Bobbitt.

The Lady Panthers broke away from HHS as the match continued with MT taking an 18-8 advantage, and HHS called a timeout. HHS came out of the timeout to score their final two points of the set and the match with Delaney Eakins pushing the ball over the net and Ray scored Hillsboro’s 10th point of the set.

MT ended the fourth set and match with six straight points for the FAC victory.

Hillsboro’s loss moves them to 1-7 overall on the season. Next for HHS is an away FAC match at Chillicothe on Thursday, Sept. 12. From there, HHS will be on the road at Madison-Plains on Monday, Sept. 18 and at McClain on Tuesday, Sept. 19.
