HILLSBORO — The Hillsboro Lady Indians dropped their second consecutive South Central Ohio League game, Monday night, this time a 12-2 loss to the Clinton-Massie Lady Falcons.
Last Friday, HHS fell to the Washington Lady Blue Lions. Their lone SCOL win came against London, as CM has now defeated the Lady Indians twice this season.
HHS (1-3, 2-8) scored two runs in the fourth inning, off a home run by A.J. Sanders. The two-run blast also scored Haylee Wehrung, who singled to start the inning.
"They (CM) hit the ball well, and we didn't," HHS head coach Krista George said. "We left four on base … we can't win games when we leave runners on the bases."
Other than the home run by Sanders, the Lady Indians collected five more hits. Sanders had a single in the second inning, the first HHS hit of the game.
In the third inning, Sara Ray and Tessa Hilterbran each had a base hit, and in the fourth, Jenni Middleton followed the home run with a single.
CM (5-0, 7-2) scored three runs in the first inning and two more in the second for a 5-0 lead. The lead went to seven runs after three innings. In the fourth, CM added five runs to their lead for a 12-0 advantage.
For the game, HHS struck out six times and didn't have any walks.
CM tallied 17 hits and three walks.
For the Lady Falcons, Myers went 3-for-4 with three runs. Morgan Peters was 2-for-2 with two walks and two runs. Jessica Davis was also 3-for-4 with three runs. Brianna Machado went 2-for-2 with one walk and two runs.
Also scoring runs for CM were Megan Hayslip and Brittany Lauer.
HHS is scheduled to play at Madison-Plains on Tuesday in a make-up game. On Wednesday, HHS is scheduled to travel to Greenfield to face the McClain Lady Tigers.[[In-content Ad]]
