Lady Indians place 2nd at SCOL Championships

The Hillsboro Lady Indians placed second at the 2014 South Central Ohio League Championships in the two-day event, held at Washington Senior High School.

HHS scored 130.50 points, trailing only the first-place Washington Lady Blue Lions, who scored 158.50.

Third through seventh places were: Miami Trace (103.50), Chillicothe (103), Clinton-Massie (80), McClain (70.50) and East Clinton (13).

For HHS, they totaled five first-place finishes, while MHS had two, in both the discus and shot put events by Tara Karnes. Karnes' distance in the shot put was 38-09.00 and in the discus event was 107-07.

In the HHS first-place finishes, Allison Goolsby won the 100-meter hurdles at 16.77 and the 300m hurdles with a time of 50.47.

Alissa Hauke was the winner of the 3200m run with a time of 12:40.58, and Megan Overberg won the 400m dash at 1:00.78.

Also for HHS, the 4x200m relay team of Goolsby, Brittney Brown, Erin Hagen and Megan Overberg had a first-place time of 1:52.48.
