In a very closely contested South Central Ohio League game on Monday, the Hillsboro Lady Indians battled with the Clinton-Massie Falcons but came up a run short, falling by a 1-0 score at Alice Cassner Field.
The game saw each team collect four hits, but it was one run scored in the top of the third that was the difference.
"This was a good game played all around by both teams," HHS head coach Catie Moberly said. "This is the type of game I like to see at the high school level.
"Last week I talked about how we needed to play as a team, and (Monday) the girls did that."

The loss was charged to Hanna Breeden, who was pitching with an injured ankle, as she was in a walking boot all week before the game.
Breeden pitched all seven innings, allowing one earned run on four hits and no walks. She collected one strikeout.
"Hanna placed the team ahead of herself, and the others followed her lead," Moberly said. "She did more than what we expected from her with the injury she has."
The loss moves HHS to 4-8 overall, as HHS left seven runners on the bases, while CM had three stranded.
HHS will play at Zane Trace on Tuesday, followed by a game at McClain on Wednesday. On Thursday, the Lady Indians will be at Clinton-Massie, and on Friday, HHS is scheduled to host the Lynchburg-Clay Lady Mustangs.
