Lady Indians drop SCOL game to Blue Lions
WASHINGTON C.H. – The Washington Lady Blue Lions led after each quarter as they gained a South Central Ohio League win over the Hillsboro Lady Indians 52-16 at Washington Senior High School Saturday night.
The Lady Blue Lions gained a 14-2 lead after the first eight minutes, and followed with a 16-point performance in the second frame to take a 30-5 advantage at halftime.
WSHS scored 11 points each in the third and fourth quarters, while HHS scored seven in the third and four in the final quarter.
HHS (1-8, 1-12) was led by Jenni Willey with five points. Willey made two baskets and one free throw. Julie Shafer finished with four points, followed by Shelby Coyle, Annemarie Stamper and AJ Sanders each scoring two points.
HHS was 2 of 13 from the free-throw line.
The Lady Blue Lions were led by Lauryn Robinson with a game-high 20 points. Robinson made seven two-point baskets and was 6 of 9 from the free-throw line.
HHS will play again Monday as they host the Fayetteville Lady Rockets.
