The Hillsboro Lady Indians saw their 2015 season close in the Division II SE District Sectional Finals on Saturday afternoon, falling to the No. 1 seeded Fairfield Union Lady Falcons by a 4-0 score.

The road loss for the Lady Indians saw them allow one run in the fourth inning (a home run) and three more in the sixth for the four-run loss.

HHS didn't gain their first hit until the top of the fourth with a one-out base hit by Kerstin Thornburgh.

In the fifth, HHS added hits two and three when Madison Snyder singled to left field to lead off the inning. After one out was recorded, the Lady Indians responded with a hit by Kirsten Juillerat to give the visitors two runners on the bases.

Hillsboro failed to capitalize on the two base hits as the next two batters were retired with a strikeout and a ground out to third base.

Thornburgh added her second hit of the sectional final in the top of the sixth, with a two-out doubler to centerfield, but again, the Lady Indians couldn’t get the runner to the plate as the next at-bat saw a strikeout to end the inning.

HHS ended the game with three straight outs in the top of the seventh. In all, HHS struck out 11 times. Hanna Breeden allowed five hits in the loss, as the HHS starting pitcher. She finished with two strikeouts and walked none.

In fact for Breeden, she didn't allow a hit until the fourth inning, shutting out the Lady Falcons the first three innings. The only base runners in the first three innings for the hosts were on an error and a hit-by-pitch in the first inning.

The Lady Indians finished the postseason with a 1-1 record, defeating the Circleville Lady Tigers, 7-6 this past Wednesday.

Playing their final game for HHS were seniors Ali Stratton and Kirsten Juillerat.
